BIOGRAPHY

Isra Chaker is a Syrian-American  activist, humanitarian advocate, and public speaker. She currently serves as a Senior Campaign Manager at Amnesty International USA (AIUSA), where she is a strategic leader, fostering innovation and creativity, and leading a cross-organizational team of volunteers and staff to deliver winning campaigns. She also serves as a key thought partner to the National Director of Campaigns and Crisis Response in developing and winning AIUSA’s Campaigns.

Isra is the architect of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's For Mama campaign, the first advocacy and multi-million dollar resource mobilization project of its kind addressing maternal, newborn and child health. For Mama’s 30 day fundraising campaign far exceeded its fundraising target of $3 million, going on to raise more than $13 million. It marked the first time Muslim philanthropies in North America and the United Kingdom combined their collective power to promote maternal health, and the first time the Gates Foundation has supported a large-scale, community-driven fundraising campaign in support of a priority health issue.

She is an appointed Ambassador for One Young World (OYW), a global forum of young innovative leaders and has served as a speaker at their annual OYW Summit in London (2019), and Manchester (2022). She is a Public Advocate for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency USA (UNRWA) for her raising awareness and funds for their refugee programs.

Isra’s impact goes well beyond speaking engagements and global campaigns- she reaches a global audience of 280,000 supporters via her social media platform @IsraSpeaks, where she empowers people around the world to use their personal narrative to become active global citizens who use their voice to create positive change.
